Ski Bunny

Zane has gone skiing as part of Adaptive Sports in the past. Monday, he took a trip with his fellow classmates from his SpEd program to DMR (Purgatory). He had THE most fabulous volunteers: two guys (one young, the other youngish) who were full of energy and seemed to have a bit of an adventurous streak to them.

Normally, the whole family skis with Zane. Because of our oldest son’s reluctance on the slopes—despite many lessons in the past—we often find ourselves on the green runs. I am 100% certain that is not where Zane went on Monday J In fact, the volunteers told me that he had quite a bit of powder (notice the picture), and those were the times when he actually squealed with delight on the mountain!

He was happy the entire time. They immediately took him to the top of the mountain and did two runs with him. They came back down so I could check him out. He was smiling and warm, so they asked if they could take him up again. How could I say no?

Again, I cannot rave enough about the volunteers who skied with Zane. The one asked if he’d be back next week because he wants to be sure to ski with him again. He kept thanking me for bringing Zane, but I am incredibly thankful to him for giving Zane the time of his life!
