Our son was diagnosed with Trisomy 18 five days after birth. We were told he probably would live for two months--no more. He has managed to defy the odds placed against him. Zane is now ten.

Trisomy 18
Trisomy 18 is a chromosomal condition that occurs in 1 in 7000 births. It typically proves fatal for children within the first year of life. Fewer than 10% live to celebrate their first birthdays.
Zane is celebrating his fifth birthday in Florida—the state where he was born. For a child who was given a prognosis of only a few months, he is most certainly doing better than expected. We’re so grateful to be able to celebrate with him! We love you, Zane!!! Happy Birthday, Zaner!
Happy Birthday Zane!!! Hope you have a blast in Florida! You appear to be an Angel among us!! God Bless, and Merry Christmas! Terri, Donnie, and Joelyn Lucero
