Our son was diagnosed with Trisomy 18 five days after birth. We were told he probably would live for two months--no more. He has managed to defy the odds placed against him. Zane is now ten.

Trisomy 18
Trisomy 18 is a chromosomal condition that occurs in 1 in 7000 births. It typically proves fatal for children within the first year of life. Fewer than 10% live to celebrate their first birthdays.
At school yesterday, Zane held and pet an English Bulldog puppy. He loved it, as you can tell by the photo. One of the mothers brought five pups in for her child's share day. Thank you to Zane's teachers for capturing the picture.
